Hopeful Monster has been invited to perform at IDOW 2011! If you live in Halifax, you know about this festival — founded in 2006 by a handful of musicians and promoters, it draws aficionados out of hibernation en masse, to celebrate live music despite the crushing weather. In its first year, IDOW marked the closing of the legendary Khyber Club on Barrington St, the migration of the Halifax indie scene to the North end of town and the establishment of a thriving new singer/songwriter community with a mature and far-carrying voice. Hopeful Monster opens for Snailhouse on Thursday, Jan. 27 at FRED, 2606 Agricola St, following Newfoundland's Matthew Hornell.
